250 doctors, nurses and health professionals have taken a STAND against neighborhood oil drilling in Los Angeles.
In November 2017, 250 L.A.-area health professionals wrote a letter to the Los Angeles City Council demanding action to end the practice of oil drilling near homes, schools, healthcare facilities and places of worship in L.A. As the City Council waits on for study of health impacts of urban oil drilling, which has been delayed three months by the City Petroleum Administrator Uduak-Joe Ntuk, these doctors are standing up to say enough is enough.
“The science is clear and the medical opinion is in: oil drilling is an evident and present threat to the health of Angelenos."
Dr. Felix Aguilar, physician and board member of Physicians for Social Responsibility – Los Angeles
